Author Guidelines

1. General Information

INTENS (Journal of Information Technology Science) publishes original research papers, review articles, and case studies related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, and related applied sciences.
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Authors must ensure that the submission adheres to the ethical standards of scientific publication.

All manuscripts are reviewed through a double-blind peer review process. The decision to publish is based on originality, clarity, significance, and conformity to the journal's scope and style.

2. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s Open Journal System (OJS):

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 Format Requirements

File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
  • Margins: Top/Left 2.5 cm, Right/Bottom 2 cm 
  • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing
  • Length:
  • Research article: up to 12 page
  • Review paper: up to 16 pagesColumn layout: Two-column format

4. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be organized according to the IMRaD format as follows:

Title

  • Should be concise (maximum 12 words), clear, and informative.
  • Avoid abbreviations or formulas in the title.
  • Centered, bold, 16 pt font.

Author(s) Name and Affiliation

  • Author names: full names without titles or degrees.
  • Affiliations include institution, city, and country.
  • The corresponding author must be clearly identified with an email address.

Abstract

  • Written in English.
  • Length: 100–200 words.
  • Should include purpose, method, results, and conclusion.
  • No references or uncommon abbreviations.
  • Font: 10 pt, single paragraph.

Keywords

  • Provide 5–7 keywords separated by commas.
  • Use specific and commonly accepted terms.

4.1. Introduction

  • Includes background, research gap, problem statement, literature review, objectives, and novelty of the study.
  • Should be 3–6 paragraphs.
  • Avoid extensive theoretical discussion.

4.2. Method (Methodology)

  • Clearly describe the research design, algorithm, workflow, data collection, and analysis method.
  • Provide sufficient detail for replication.
  • Support each step with relevant citations.

4.3. Results and Discussion

  • Present results in figures, tables, and graphs.
  • Discuss findings scientifically, supported by literature.
  • Subsections (e.g., 3.1, 3.2) may be used for clarity.
  • Avoid repeating data already shown in figures/tables.

4.4. Conclusion

  • Summarize key findings and their implications.
  • State how the objectives are achieved.
  • May include recommendations for future work.

Acknowledgments (Optional)

  • Acknowledge individuals, organizations, or funders who contributed to the research.

References

  • Minimum:
    • 25 references for original research articles
    • 50 references for review papers
  • Use the IEEE citation style.
  • 70% of references should be from journal articles within the last 10 years.
  • Reference management using Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero is strongly recommended.

5. Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
  • Place them centered and cited within the text.
  • Images should be minimum 300 dpi.
  • Table titles appear above, and figure captions below.

6. Equations

  • Use Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType.
  • Equations should be centered and numbered on the right margin, e.g. (1).
  • Define all symbols immediately after they appear.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are checked using Turnitin or equivalent software.
The maximum similarity index allowed is 20% (excluding references).
Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision.

8. Review Process

Each manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
Reviewer recommendations may result in one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted without revision
  • Accepted with minor revision
  • Accepted with major revision
  • Rejected

Authors must submit revised manuscripts within 14 days after receiving review feedback.

9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright but grant INTENS the right to publish under the license:
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) before publication.
